A student's text can be pasted into Markin from an e-mail message or a word-processor file. The teacher can then annotate the text using a set of buttons, footnotes and other kinds of feedback. The marked text can then be exported as a World Wide Web page in HTML format, and sent back to the student. The student, opening the page in a Web browser, will see that parts of the text have been made into links. Clicking on a link will take the student to the teacher's comment or error diagnosis.
